Will Barcelona switch after Joao Felix?

Barcelona are aware that it will be difficult to sign their primary attacking goals this summer – Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland – given the competition for his signature, and according to Goal.com (via Sport), they are ready to move on to Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix as their first alternative.

It’s not that easy to pick up Felix – the Portuguese striker is Atletico’s record signing when he came from Benfica in the summer of 2019 for more than € 120 million. The fact is, though, that the 22-year-old, even though he’s obviously still young, has not had the impact that such a large fee is justified under Diego Simeone. Many believe that Simeone’s notoriously defensive style actually prevents Felix from developing and unleashing his full potential. Therefore, Barcelona are ready to offer him what they think is the right scene for him, provided they can find a deal with Atletico.

Felix’s current contract still has over four years left to run.
