Goal has what you need to know about when the Argentine will bow in Paris, including how to watch British and American television

Lionel Messi is now officially Paris Saint-Germain player.

It may take some time to get used to seeing him wear a different shirt than Barcelona’s, but the Argentina star has actually joined the Ligue 1 side after a breakdown in contract negotiations with his former club.

The question now is when exactly will Messi make his debut with PSG? Goal have all the information you need.

When will Lionel Messi make his PSG debut?

Messi is ready to make his PSG debut August 29 against Reims, after being included in the official 22-man squad.

Kylian Mbappe, who has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, was also named in the panel.

The Ligue 1 season has already begun and Messi has already been pictured in PSG training, although there was some concern that Argentina might need a pre-season.

The striker has spent a number of weeks on holiday after lifting the Copa America with Argentina, and since signing only for the French side on August 10, PSG’s match on August 14 against Strasbourg came too early.

The match against Brest on 20 August was also considered premature as Messi still needed to return to full match condition, but he is now expected to take off in PSG colors this Sunday.

“I do not know when my debut will be,” Messi said at the time of his signing.

“I just returned from vacation, I’ve been rested for a month. Honestly, I do not know when I will return. I met the coach and staff yesterday. I will probably do some preparation, start training and when I am ready, I start playing.

“I will see depending on the preparation, the training, my emotions, but when the staff finds me ready, I will start with a lot of desire.”
