When he heard from Kamara, Lammons procrastinated again

LAS VEGAS – A judge on Monday adjourned a hearing in a criminal case involving two NFL players and two other men accused of seriously beating a man at a nightclub in Las Vegas over the weekend of the Pro Bowl.

Lawyers for New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara, Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Chris Lammons and two other defendants, Darrin Young and Percy Harris, asked for more time to review evidence recently handed over by prosecutors.

The four men did not have to appear in person in court, while Justice of the Peace Harmony Letizia set a new date for August 1. Every man remains free on tape.

This is the second time that the hearing has been postponed. It had also been postponed from March 8 to Monday.

Police have said video evidence shows Kamara placed her hand on the suspected victim’s chest to prevent him from stepping on the elevator in the early 5s. February at the nightclub Drai’s on the roof. The man pushed Kamara’s hand away and Lammons beat the man, according to police.

The man fell unconscious on the floor and the defendants allegedly stomped on his face, chest and legs, leaving him with facial fractures and injuries to his head, knees and arms.

Kamara played in the Pro Bowl on February 6 before being arrested. Lammons reported himself several days later. Young and Harris were arrested on February 14.
