West Ham has started talks with David Moyes about a new contract, less than a year after he was re-elected as the club’s coach.

The Scotsman is enjoying his second spell in charge at the club after taking over from Manuel Pellegrini last December, the coach who had replaced him in the Hammers hot seat after the conclusion of the 2017/18 season.

Moyes led West Ham to safety after scoring 20 points in the club’s last 19 Premier League matches, and his team started this season in good shape, currently ranking fifth in the Premier League table.

Five wins and two draws in their first 10 games, a streak that has included sweeping wins over Leicester and Wolves, a notable comeback against Tottenham and a point against Manchester City at London Stadium, has led the club to open discussions about an extension. to the 18-month agreement that he signed upon his return.

Sky sports Report that talks are already underway between the two sides, as the club finally looks to tie up Moyes in the long run. The first time, Moyes was only offered a six-month contract, which was not renewed, while the beginning of his second term in charge saw him granted an additional 12 months.

Both times, Moyes has transformed the club’s fortunes and has slowly begun to gain the support of the club’s fans following initial skepticism about his return.

The key to the Hammers ‘resurgence has been Moyes’ strong recruitment. Newcomers Tomas Soucek, Jarrod Bowen, Vladimir Coufal and Said Benrahma appear to be good acquisitions and the 57-year-old is understood to have played an important role in the acquisition and selection of all players.

He also brought out the best in Michail Antonio after turning him into a boisterous center forward, just as he did with Marko Arnautovic during his first term.

The next step for the Hammers is a tough game against one of Moyes’s former clubs, Manchester United. This is followed by a complicated trip to Elland Road to face Leeds, before back-to-back London derbies against Crystal Palace and Chelsea, led by former academy graduate Frank Lampard.
