West Ham are aiming high, after a report revealed that a PSG star, who was recently signed for 28.8 million. £, is in David Moyes’ crosshairs this month.

West Ham are once again enjoying a fantastic season under David Moyes. The Scot monitored a smooth sailing as the Hammers crossed into the knockout phase of the Europa League. On the domestic front, West Ham remain firmly rooted in the battle for fourth place.

But their seasonal hopes suffered a blow as Kurt Zouma and Angelo Ogbonna both suffered significant injuries. In Ogbona’s case, the center-back is not expected to return until next year after undergoing knee surgery.

That left Moyes with only Issa Diop and Craig Dawson to call on in the heart of the defense. The pair have replaced well, but another injury could prove fatal to West Ham’s ambitions.

As such, Caught offside (quotes French outlet The team), reports PSG’s Abdou Diallo is in their binoculars.

The Senegalese defender is known for his versatility in being right at home with either center-back or left-back. It apparently appeals to West Ham, who have also been without first-choice left-back Aaron Cresswell since late November.

Diallo, 25, first signed for PSG in 2019 when he arrived from Borussia Dortmund for £ 28.8m.

The article says he had been tipped to become a cornerstone of the Parisian’s backline. But when Portuguese prodigy Nuno Mendes signed on loan last summer with a call option, Diallo’s position is under serious threat.

It has opened the door for West Ham to strike, although details beyond registering their interest are thin on the ground at the moment.

Another option – though only at left back – is Everton’s Lucas Digne. The Frenchman is expected to be sold this month after clashing with Everton boss Rafael Benitez. Chelsea and West Ham are both in the running.

West Ham are ready to receive the Newcastle bid

Meanwhile, Newcastle are reportedly set to make an opening bid of between £ 8 million and £ 10 million for West Ham’s central defender Issa Diop.

With Kurt Zouma and Angelo Ogbonna currently on the sidelines, the 24-year-old is currently enjoying a longer run at David Moyes’ side.

However, the money-rich Magpies are looking to strengthen their defense – after landing Kieran Trippier from Atletico Madrid.

And now The team (via Daily Express) states that Newcastle are set to make a bid for Diop ‘in the coming hours’.

Whether that bid is a success, however, remains to be seen, especially with Diop crucial to Hammers at the moment. As for the player himself, Diop may have a big decision to make over his future.

The former Toulouse star sat on the bench before the injuries to Zouma and Ogbonna. He may very well return there when the duo are free again.
