David Moyes has been quite frank about his attacking options (or lack thereof) in recent weeks, so we can only assume that Sebastian Haller will leave the club to make way for an upgrade.
The Ivorian striker simply hasn’t lived up to his initial billing since moving to England, so it makes sense to switch him, but it turns out that it will still be a record rate if that move takes place:
All that Sebastien Haller has left to join Ajax is paperwork on Friday. 4.5-year contract in force, fee of 22.5 million euros agreed with West Ham, doctor performed. It will be the all-time record incoming transfer to the Netherlands. W / @Roshaneport for @AthleticUK #WHUFC #AJAX https://t.co/YBMKmMY2k2

West Ham’s minds will immediately turn to who the replacement will be, so it’s definitely exciting news to see Lyon striker Moussa Dembele have been linked.
He was excellent for Celtic and made some important contributions to the French team in Ligue 1 and the Champions League, but it must be said that the deal does not seem to be closed at the moment:
Moussa Dembélé and his representatives have had no contact since West Ham and the forward is not thinking of leaving Lyon at this stage. (@SkyKaveh)
Celtic will have to pay 10% of the proceeds of any future sales.

Dembele’s link was also picked up by MSN News who indicated that Lyon had originally asked for £ 60 million when there was interest in the forward over the summer, so West Ham will have to pay a large fee to bring him in.
It’s hard to see it cost anywhere near £ 60m, so it will be interesting to see if an official offer is made, while it’s also worth noting that more news suggests a deal might be possible.
Sports world They have cited reports suggesting Lyon has identified Leicester City’s misfit Islam Slimani as Dembélé’s replacement if things go ahead, so there are some positive signs here.
It is clear that nothing is imminent and that there are some moving parts here, but Dembele’s movement could gradually take shape.
