According to The daily star, West Bromwich Albion is interested in signing Phil Jones from Premier League rival Manchester United in the January transfer window. New West Brom manager Sam Allardyce worked with Jones when he was in charge of Blackburn Rovers, and the former West Ham United and Newcastle United manager wants to bring the central defender to The Hawthorns.
Jones has been on United’s books since 2011 when he joined from Blackburn. England’s international central defender has won the Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Europa League titles once each with the Red Devils so far.
The 28-year-old has fallen through the pecking order at Old Trafford and has been fighting for playing time for United for a while. According to Who scoredJones hasn’t made a single competitive appearance for the Red Devils so far this season, while during the 2019-20 campaign, he made two Premier League appearances and played 202 minutes in the Europa League.
