West Bromwich Albion and Derby County are interested in signing Phil Jones from Manchester United in the January transfer window, according to Eurosport. It is reported that Newcastle United have also been controlling England’s international defender.
Sam Allardyce has been appointed the new manager of West Brom, who are struggling to survive in the Premier League and are in need of defensive reinforcements. Jones meets interim Derby manager Rooney after playing with his compatriot at United. The Rams are third from the bottom in the Championship table at the moment with 16 points from 19 games, while West Brom is currently second from the bottom in the Premier League table with seven points from 14 games.
Jones hasn’t made a single competitive appearance for United so far this season. During the 2019-20 campaign, the 28-year-old central defender made two appearances in the Premier League and played three times in the Europa League for the Red Devils, according to Who scored.
