Following Jamie Carragher’s claim that Manchester United need to “get rid” of Paul Pogba, former club fans Paul Scholes and Rio Ferdinand have entered the debate.

The former players, who made more than 1,000 combined appearances for United, were beginning to end their careers at Old Trafford when Pogba began to get ahead of the academy.

The Frenchman made headlines again ahead of his all-important Champions League clash at RB Leipzig with claims from his agent Mino Raiola that he is unhappy at the club and wants to leave.

Scholes felt sympathy for his former teammate, describing Pogba as “a good boy” and saying he was misrepresented by the famous super agent Raiola.

Ferdinand blamed the club for not nipping the situation in the bud, likening it to a situation between Wayne Rooney and Sir Alex Ferguson in 2010.
