According to Gregg Evans of AthleticAston Villa will again try to sell Frederic Guilbert.
Dean Smith has “seen enough”
The right-back has been through a difficult time at the club since joining the French Caens, and this season has seen both Ahmed Elmohamady and summer signing Matty Cash overtake him in the pecking order for that right-back position.
Now, Evans claims that having failed to sell him in the summer transfer window, Villa will once again try to get him off his books and is willing to listen to offers as they look to try to rebuild some of his defensive options out of his four starters.
Should Villa sell Guilbert in January?
And with Evans previously claiming Since Dean Smith had already “seen enough” the Frenchman, it seems that January could be the last month that Villa fans can see Guilbert.
Stealing Sawiris and Edens blindly
With No The Premier League appearances to his name this season, it’s fair to say things haven’t worked out for Guilbert in recent months.
He was not even named to the league’s team of the day until the clash with Wolves earlier this month, while his only appearances with the Villa jersey have been at the Carabao Cup and reserve level.
Win around £ 40k a weekGuilbert is simply cashing a paycheck for fiddling with his thumbs, and that’s not the kind of financial management that co-owners Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens will be happy with.
The French ace has been robbing Villa’s bosses blindly, and as the club looks to try and back Smith in the transfer market, making sure they do their part to get rid of the players he doesn’t want will be key to his success, too. .
