Tottenham have reportedly started talks with star player Harry Kane as they look to secure their future amid growing interest in transfers.
The England international is said to be a long-term goal for Manchester City, while Paris Saint-Germain are also mentioned as potential suitors in a report from the Independent.
Kane has been a very important part of the Tottenham team for many years, and losing him to City or PSG would be a devastating blow to the club.
It would be especially difficult to see Kane leave for a Premier League rival, and Independiente noted that he is seen as an ideal replacement for Sergio Aguero at the Etihad Stadium.
The 27-year-old could also make a good bond with former Spurs coach Mauricio Pochettino at PSG, and Independiente noted he could be a target, depending on Kylian Mbappé’s situation regarding a possible transfer to Real Madrid.
Tottenham fans will be relieved to hear the report claiming that their club has opened discussions about tying Kane to a new contract.
However, there doesn’t seem to be a particular rush, as the Independent noted that he signed a six-year contract in 2018, meaning he should still be tied down until 2024.
Still, the closer he gets to that date without re-signing, the more speculation about his future will grow, and the more confident clubs like City will grow by persuading THFC to let him go.
