Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to express their reactions after reports emerged that Spurs had designated Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa as one of their defensive targets for the summer.
According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, both Spurs and Liverpool are looking to beef up their defense in the summer transfer window, and Konsa has emerged as a possible option.
Konsa joined Villa from Brentford in 2019 for a fee of £ 12 million. He’s been one of Villa’s shining stars under Dean Smith and he’s been just outstanding at the rear.
The 23-year-old center-back, who can also play as a right-back, has made 20 appearances this season in the Premier League and has two goals to his name.
Many Spurs fans feel that he would be a very good signing for the club. These are some of the selected tweets:
It would certainly be a good signing, but why isn’t giving tanganga a proper shot at CB is really better than him?

You clearly don’t watch much football

Don’t get me wrong, he’s a decent player, but the days of taking players out of Premier League clubs have changed, if we really want him, Villa would ask for at least 35/40 thousand and there’s no way we’ll pay for that.

He’s really a very underrated defender, he plays alongside unreliable mings and a midfield who doesn’t like to help. he is also a fan of spurs

Yes please … him and Botman 🤞

SL View: It would be a smart signing
He has a contract at the club until the summer of 2023, and Villa is unlikely to lose his precious asset.
However, things may change in the summer with two heavyweight clubs vying for his signature, but any potential suitor will have to pay a premium price to get him away from Villa Park.
The central defender is a lifelong Tottenham fan And given the chance, he might find it difficult to turn down an offer from the North London club right away.
Defense is an area where the Spurs need to beef up in the summer.
Eric Dier has had a lot of trouble in recent months and José Mourinho suggested that the English international lacks confidence.
Davinson Sánchez has been disappointing and Toby Alderweireld has not been at his compelling prime this season.
Joe Rodon is a promising talent, but the Spurs need depth and quality in their defense. Konsa has tremendous potential and his experience in the Premier League makes him an attractive target in the summer.
