Tottenham are reportedly considering a proposal from Real Madrid to buy Isco this month, as he claims he can leave the Spanish giants for a cut price.
Isco is nearing the end of his time with Real Madrid. He has represented the club since 2013, when he joined from Malaga. However, his playing time has dropped in recent years, which has only made two starts in LaLiga. With a contract expiring at the end of the season, his future looks set to be somewhere else.
The offensive midfielder has long been linked with a move away from the Bernabeu. Arsenal have recently been mentioned as potential suitorsfor example, while Newcastle has also been mentioned.
However Daily Express reports that Tottenham are leading the attack for the 29-year-old, who can leave for only 5 million.
Moreover, AS reports that Carlo Ancelotti has given his exit his blessing and will not stand in his way.
They claim that Spurs boss Antonio Conte and director Fabio Paratici are currently deciding whether to secure his signature.
But the newspaper reckons that they will decide to implement the agreement and that it is an opportunity not to be missed.
Hand out, Isco in
In fact, they claim that Conte will see Isco as an upgrade to the outgoing Dele Alli.
The 25-year-old has failed to make his mark on Conte and his exit in January is now ‘decided’.
It is reported that Conte will not stand in his way if a suitable offer comes in for his services.
Newcastle are among those reportedly considering moving and Alli would prove to be a cheaper alternative to Aaron Ramsey.
Merson is behind the Dele Alli signing
Pundit Paul Merson reckons Alli can save his career with a move to St James’ Park.
We have the potential to move, Merson wrote in his Daily star column: “Newcastle should go to the football equivalent of the dog rescue center and pick themselves a pedigree in January.
Sharing Alli may not just be for Christmas, he may not even be there much after May if the Geordies let go.
“But for me, he’s definitely worth a shot and may prove to be an inspired acquisition.
“Deles’ talent is not in doubt, but he has been out in the desert at Tottenham for far too long and he needs to do something. He could be an absolute hero in St James’ Park. “
Alli is thought to be a target for West Ham and a couple of unnamed German clubs, but a switch to Tyneside is the most likely option.
The 25-year-old has two goals and an assist in 17 games so far this season.
