Tottenham are in “advanced negotiations” to sign midfielder Sofyan Amrabat in a loan deal with the option to buy, a report claims.
According to Sky Sport Italia journalist Matteo Moretto, Amrabat appeared on Spurs’ radar last week. And both Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici are eager for a deal for the Fiorentina man. The 25-year-old has impressed at the African Cup of Nations, where his Moroccan team advanced to the quarter-finals.
Amrabat played a full 90 minutes as Morocco defeated Malawi 2-1 in the round of 16.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Amrabat is keen to switch to Spurs. And although the negotiations are at an “advanced” stage, the agreement has not been concluded yet.
The transfer is dependent on Spurs pushing Tanguy Ndombele out on loan to PSG. If that deal goes through, Amrabat will become the Spurs player. Both transfers appear to be loan-to-purchase agreements.
Everton also have an interest in Ndombele. However, Ndombele is more likely to go abroad, according to Athletics’ David Ornstein.

In a speech on the Transfer Gossip Daily, Ornstein said: “From the people I talk to, Tanguy Ndombele is more suited to football in another country in relation to the fact that he does not seem to have fallen so well into English football.

The Amrabat agreement depends on Ndombele
“Why should Everton solve that problem? Only if there are no teams on the continent that are willing to pay his salary or present an attractive enough proposal to him.
“He has been so strongly linked with Paris Saint-Germain and of course Mauricio Pochettino signed him for Tottenham and is now their boss and that would take him back to the city where he grew up on the outskirts.”
The Moroccan national team player arrived in Greece Verona on loan from Club Brugge in 2019-20.
Verona exercised their option to buy him in January 2020 and immediately sold him to Fioentina, who loaned him back to Verona until the end of the 2019-20 season.
