Tottenham are reportedly free to sign Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar this January, provided they pay £ 45 million for him.
The Slovakia international has been a high-performance player for Inter and could be an excellent addition to almost any team in Europe, so the Spurs would surely love to have him on board.
According to Fabrizio Romano’s latest on his Here we go podcast, Tottenham can sign Skriniar for just £ 45 million this January as Inter desperately need the money from his sale.
The Spurs were interested in signing Skriniar over the summer, according to additional information from the SunSo this is very encouraging news for José Mourinho if he still wants the 25-year-old central defender.
With Tottenham saying goodbye to key player Jan Vertonghen over the summer, another defensive signing could make sense as a priority for North Londoners this January.
If they can bring in Skriniar for such a low fee it could end up being an incredibly shrewd business, although we imagine other large parties might show interest as well if Romano’s claims are accurate.
It’s not often that players of this caliber are available for such a reasonable price, and Skriniar could easily do a job for other less-defensive big names, like Manchester United and Liverpool, to name just two examples.
