Some Tottenham Hotspur supporters have demanded that the Premier League award three points to José Mourinho’s team after tonight’s draw against Fulham was postponed due to Covid-19.
Soccer – London Alasdair Gold first broke the news of the match cancellation just after 2.30pm on Wednesday, this comes after Athletic reported that Fulham suffered an outbreak within their squad.
Gold also tweeted later Tuesday afternoon that the Spurs have been left very ‘unhappy’ with the handling of this situation, with the tie canceled just three and a half hours before the scheduled kickoff date.
It was just then that Gold and Athletic initially reported the news, official statements from the top flight and from both clubs came some time later.
The Spurs are very unhappy with the late nature of the postponement decision tonight and the lack of clarity for much of the last 24 hours. Tottenham were ready to travel to the stage to play and the club is understood to be unhappy at the lack of communication with them from Fulham.

Here’s what some Spurs fans have made of the ordeal:
We should get the points. Like Everton if a break is found in Covid guidelines

So Fulham waits until game day to postpone it. Give @Espursofficial the three points and Harry Kane 3 goals

Fulham should lose the points. 3 hours before kickoff FOOLS. ??

I agree with the suspension of the game, just saying that we should have been rewarded with the points, as Fulham had enough time to cancel the game.
not 3 hours before the start?– Jon (@MIGHTYSPURZ) December 30, 2020
Yes @Espursofficial v @FulhamFC has been postponed at Fulham’s request, even though they have enough players to line up a team, surely the @premierleague need to give the Spurs all 3 points? !!

A 3-0 3-point win must be awarded for the late postponement, and the financial costs must be covered by Fulham, harsh but fair, and wish them a speedy recovery.

Fulham should be fined accordingly and will Spurs get all 3 points?
The Premier League should NOT have to accept Alasdair. The way this goes, the entire League will have to cancel and continue after the virus is down. https://t.co/uAEd6CsK04– Russell Lane (@ russell11068021) December 30, 2020
It seems despicable that some Spurs fans have ignored the severity of this moment and called for Fulham and his team to be fined all three points.
Regardless of how the outbreak occurred, the initial thoughts of all football fans, and everyone involved in the game, should be for the good health and recovery of anyone affected, not for the test to be used as a literal moment to score points.
