Wolverhampton Wanderers wanted to sign Oliver McBurnie from Sheffield United in the summer transfer window, according to The Telegraph (21.35). It has been reported that Wolves were looking to sign McBurnie from the Blades on this summer’s transfer deadline, but the Premier League club ran out of time to make a deal.

McBurnie has been on the books at United since 2019. The Scottish international striker has scored seven goals in 75 Premier League matches so far in his career. The 25-year-old scored a goal in the 12 Premier League starts for Blades last season.

The Wolves have lost their first three Premier League games of the season and have yet to score. Wanderers could have done with more firepower. Maybe Wolves will revisit the situation when the transfer window opens in January.
