Like many others around the world, Manchester United experienced something of a wild ride during 2020.
The Red Devils did not have the best of starts and it seemed that all hope was lost after suffering two losses and a draw in their first three games of the year, but soon recovered shortly after the arrival of the magnificent Portuguese Bruno Fernandes.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had made Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho his main transfer target in the summer, but had to settle for Amad Diallo, Facundo Pellistri, Alex Telles and Donny van de Beek, though Ed Woodward should get credit for signing. the former Paris-Saint. Germain Edinson Cavani’s forward as a free agent, as it’s safe to say that the 33-year-old has proven to be a total revelation since he first set foot on Old Trafford.
Not to be left behind with all the new signings, Marcus Rashford received an MBE for his services to vulnerable children across the UK during the coronavirus pandemic, and the 23-year-old forward ended the year as the club’s top scorer for the 2020/21 season in all competitions.
Currently United are second in the Premier League, with three points between them and league leaders Liverpool, though they still have a game in hand over their bitter archrivals.
Who knows where United will end up at the end of the season, but one thing is certain, it shouldn’t take anything away from what has been another step in the right direction.
