The New York Giants are reportedly looking to swap wide receiver and Kadarius Toney in the first round in 2021.

There has been a lot of wide receiver movement so far in the low season. If you thought the Deebo Samuel saga was the latest to catch your eye, you might want to check out the New York / New Jersey area.

According to Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News, the Giants are looking to swap wide receiver and Kadarius Toney in the first round of 2021. Leonard adds that the team is making calls to gauge how much they can get in a trade.

The Giants are reportedly looking to swap Kadarius Toney

Leonard continued in his Daily News article, saying Tony’s commitment came into play in his first season, citing “lack of playbook study” and “bad meeting behavior.” That, and Toney handled several injuries during his rookie year.

The Giants held their volunteer offseason program to get ready for the upcoming season under new head coach Brian Daboll. Toney was not present.

New York used the 20th overall pick in last year’s NFL Draft on Toney, which they received after swapping No. 11 for the Chicago Bears, who moved up to get quarterback Justin Fields. The Giants got a 2022 first-rounder from Chicago in return, making it the seventh overall pick.

When on the field, Toney flashes with electric speed as he catches the ball. He handled a number of injuries during his rookie season, which include to his shoulder, quad, hamstring, thumb, ankle and slant. That, and Toney used two stints on the reserve / COVID-19 list.

Toney was limited to 10 games in his rookie season, catching 39-of-57 goals for 420 yards and zero touchdowns.

It remains to be seen whether the Giants will trade Toney. If they do, it would put the team on the market for a wide receiver in what is a very deep class in the 2022 NFL Draft.
