The federation has confirmed that the lower-tier league has moved forward one more week and will start on December 12.
The Kenya Football Federation (FKF) has confirmed that the 2020-21 National Super League (NSL) will start on December 12.
The lower-tier league, whose winner gets a direct promotion to the FKF Premier League, was scheduled to start on December 5, 2020, but according to a statement obtained by objective, the start date has been postponed once again to December 12, 2020.
The latest development came after a meeting held on Tuesday between the FKF officials and all the clubs that are part of the division.
“The governing council of the National Super League held a pre-season meeting on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 before the 2020/21 season,” reads a statement to the FKF clubs obtained by objective.
“A number of topics were discussed, including a review from last season, however the main hot topic raised by club representatives in attendance was the league’s resume date.
“After much deliberation, the league was postponed to start on December 12, 2020, to allow clubs to handle the necessary logistics that will be helpful as they prepare for the start of the league.

Last season, the league ended prematurely in mid-March after the coronavirus outbreak with table leaders Nairobi City and runner-up Bidco United winning promotion to the top flight.
Third-placed Vihiga United were the third team to move up after beating Kisumu All-Stars on post-match penalties after a 3-3 aggregate score in the two-game promotion play-off battle to seal his return to the highest level. .
While the league had 19 teams last season, this season the stand will have 17 teams after Chemelil Sugar and Ushuru FC were relegated due to a lack of funds with three teams – Silibwet Leo’s FC, Soy United and Mwatate United FC – who obtained the rise of the FKF Division One League.
Meanwhile, the top flight returned on Saturday, November 28, 2020, with eight games played across the country and three of the games were screened live by FKF’s broadcast partner, StarTimes.
