Dallas Cowboys players Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb showed up on the field for Dirk Nowitzki’s jersey retirement ceremony with the Mavericks.

Dirk Nowitzki’s honorary evening at the American Airlines Center brought out the stars, including some of the silver and blue variety.

Cowboys receivers Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb were on the field Wednesday night for the Mavericks’ game against the Warriors.

The timing of the game worked for Cooper and Lamb. The Cowboys’ regular season ends on Saturday against the Eagles in Philadelphia, so they will be out of town soon.

The Mavericks also showed up to honor Nowitzki. They rolled by the Warriors with a 99-82 victory. Luka Doncic put up 26 pints, seven rebounds and eight assists, while Dallas held Steph Curry to 14 points on 5-of-24 shooting.

Nowitzki was No. 41 for the Mavericks for 21 years. He led the team to the 2011 NBA title and won the NBA MVP Award in 2007. He was an NBA All-Star 14 times.

He retired in 2019 after setting the NBA record for most seasons, one person has played with a single team.

Nowitzki ended a title drought for the Mavericks as they returned to their debut season in 1980. It was the city’s first major championship since the Dallas Stars won the Stanley Cup in 1999.

Cooper and Lamb will be hoping the Cowboys are able to bring Dallas another title this year. They are 11-5 and win NFC East with Lamb leading the team with 1,057 yards and Cooper leading the team with eight touchdowns.
