That Luke Getsy is leaving the Packers for the Bears is a bad sign, Aaron Rodgers

If Luke Getsy is hired as the next offensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears, then it’s terrible news for the Green Bay Packers’ chances of retaining Aaron Rodgers.

The first order for new Chicago Bears head coach Matt Eberflus is to hit the Green Bay Packers, where it hurts to try to pry their quarterbacks coach / pass coordinator Luke Getsy away from Aaron Rodgers.

Green Bay have already lost their former offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett to the Denver Broncos job. Getsy was interviewed for the job in Denver, which eventually went to his former colleague Hackett. With Rodgers on the fence about returning to the Packers anyway, retiring or not, if they lose Getsy to a division rival in the same week as they lose Hackett to Denver, then Rodgers is on his way.

The Packers may still have Matt LaFleur as head coach, but losing Rodgers’ offensive coordinator and quarterback coach feels like too much to overcome.

Luke Getsy of the Chicago Bears sounds like Aaron Rodgers is leaving Green Bay

see. If the Bears’ concert is Getsy’s, if he wants to, then he’s either been promoted by the Packers to offensive coordinator, or he’s going. The attraction of getting a promotion and working alongside a promising upcoming quarterback in Justin Fields is very appealing. Then again, these would mean that you have to spend for these processes. Getsy’s choice may change the course of history.

If he stays and Rodgers returns, Green Bay has a chance to win the Lombardi Trophy No. 5 before the soon-to-be four-time NFL MVP retires. Should he go to the Bears, Rodgers has all the more reason to request a trade out of town for a place like Denver. If the Packers can not present a competitive package to prevent Getsy from going to a rival, then Green Bay will reap what it sewed.

If the Bears end up getting Getsy, the Packers will grab and lose Rodgers in the process.
