Diego Simeone does not believe that Atlético de Madrid’s 1-1 draw against Levante is the result of nervousness over being a favorite in the League.

Atlético are six points ahead of Real Madrid with one game less, but they will be disappointed that the advantage is not eight after having rejected several opportunities on Wednesday.

The visitors fell behind Enis Bardhi’s opener in the 17th minute before Marcos Llorente leveled things with a deflected long-range effort.

Simeone’s men were on the rise thereafter and Angel Correa should have put them in front shortly after the second half resumed.

However, he did overcome an open goal with a notable miss, but Simeone believes that one point each was a fair result for two teams who will meet again on Saturday.

“Well I don’t think so [being favourites] it can cause nervousness, ”Simeone replied when asked if nerves were to blame.

“We find ourselves with a tough opponent who is doing things well. He has improved defensively, well organized and with good ball output.

“In the second half we went well, we had very clear chances. A fair draw for two teams that played a good game.

“We didn’t have to win and we could have lost it in the shot from the end of [Carlos] Clerc “.
