Spanish midfielder Joan Jordan has chilled any transfer speculation following reports of a move to Arsenal, insisting he is focused on Sevilla.
Jordan has played 19 games for Los Nervionenses in all competitions this season, helping them reach sixth place in La Liga and qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League.
His performances have reportedly attracted the attention of Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, who is believed to be a huge fan of the 26-year-old. According to mirror, the Gunners would have to pay a fee of £ 32 million for their services.
However, Arsenal’s hopes of signing the former Espanyol have been dashed, and the player confirms that he is committed to Sevilla at the moment.
Speaking at the Sports Stadium on the weekend (via TeamTalk), Jordan said: “My mind is genuinely here in Seville. I’m in a super ambitious club, and I don’t have anything else to say because I’m really super comfortable here, like when I got here.
Jordan has been successful on the La Liga team, winning last season’s Europa League in his debut season after defeating Inter Milan 3-2 in the August final.
Arsenal could be on the hunt for a new central midfielder, with recent reports linking Dani ceballos spirit Mohamed elneny con pulls away from the Emirates, leaving Arteta with few options in the heart of midfield.
The North London team were struggling this season and seemed completely devoid of creativity. However, a recent upturn in form has lifted spirits at the club, winning three at the top against Chelsea, Brighton and West Brom. This has left them in eleventh position, six points behind the Champions League positions.
