The 2022 game will feature some of the NFL’s best quarterbacks with Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers facing Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen on the golf course.
While the golf world is buzzing about the first LIV Golf course, and Dustin Johnson joins the Saudi-backed league and with the Memorial Tournament set for this week also with a packed field, we will also be treated to the latest iteration of the Match presented by Capital One.
Throughout the story of The Match, of which this will be the sixth episode of the exhibition series, we have seen Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Charles Barkley, Brooks Koepka vs. Bryson DeChambeau and several others.
But now we get all the NFL players on the field in combat, specifically four of the league’s best quarterbacks popping it out in a new arena.
Match 2022: Who is playing?
For The Match VI, we get Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady along with Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. This veteran duo must fight for the future of the NFL at the position where Chiefs signal-caller Patrick Mahomes joins Bill’s QB Josh Allen.
Golf handicap for Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen
So how good are these guys at golf? Well, based on the reported handicaps of these players, the seasoned veterans at gridiron are also more experienced on the golf course. This is what the handicap looks like for each player.
- Aaron Rodgers – 4.6
- Patrick Mahomes – 7.7
- Tom Brady – 8.1
- Josh Allen – 9.0
While Allen is late in this quartet in terms of handicaps, and all are light years behind Rodgers, both Mahomes and Allen have much more length from the tee and may shock some people on Wednesday. At the same time, both Rodgers and Brady have played in an earlier iteration of The Match, which could play to their advantage.
Where do they play The Match 2022?
Takes to the same place where the highly hyped Brooks vs. The Bryson match was played, The Match 2022 will be played at the Wynn Golf Club in Las Vegas.
Match 2022 format: What are the rules?
As has been the case many times before, the format will be changed to alternate strokes. The teams get 1 point for winning a hole, 0.5 points for a draw and 0 points for losing a hole. In terms of how each hole will play, all four players will hit a tee stroke, and each team will choose the best one to play from to the second stroke. From there, the player who did not hit the selected tee shot will strike, and the players switch every shot from there.
The match is decided over 12 holes at Wynn Golf Club.
Match 2022 odds: Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers favored ahead of Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen
According to WynnBet, Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers are relatively heavy favorites to win this competition. They are favored at -190 against their peers. But if you think the young guns are going to win, there is great value in Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen with +155 odds of winning.

Match 2022 Elections, Prediction: Will Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers Win?
Through the build-up to The Match, it seems that Brady and Rodgers have accounted for the majority of garbage talk and peacocks. Given that and their position as favorites, my gut feeling tells me that Mahomes and Allen are playing sleeper cell right now and will come out and surprise some people.
I do not expect it to be a runaway in the way Brooks Koepka beat Bryson DeChambeau last year, but take the Chiefs and Bill’s quarterbacks as underdogs because I think they will do well on Wednesday in Vegas.
Election: Patrick Mahomes / Josh Allen (+155)
