Chelsea players angrily surrounded referee Anthony Taylor during the break after his decision to send Reece James out against Liverpool.
The visitors had dominated the first half at Anfield and seemed to end the first half ahead through Kai Havertz’s inventive header.
But the mother and father of all controversy erupted just before the interval when an almighty scoring in the goalkeeper ensured.
Reece James appeared on cue near the post, and steered it past the goalie.
James received a red card, leaving his Chelsea team-mates furious. Their mood was not eased by Mo Salah, who converted his spot-kick, and handbags emerged between the two sets of players
As the half-whistle blew, Taylor surrounded a large group, led by Captain Cesar Azpilicueta, to protest the decision.
