With just 30 seconds remaining in Juventus’ Champions League tie against Porto, Cristiano Ronaldo appealed profusely for a game-changing penalty, which was ultimately denied.
Matthijs de Ligt launched a precise long-distance pass into the box, with Ronaldo deftly controlling the ball on the right side of the box before crashing to the ground as Zaidu Sanusi challenged him.
Ronaldo seemed to have beaten Sanusi with a beautiful first-touch blow, but ended up falling when the left-back leg entered, there was contact and the VAR did control the incident.
The VAR ruled that this did not warrant a kick on point, the footage appeared to show that Ronaldo was already on his way down when contact was made.
Ronaldo immediately raised his arms in the air when the challenge was first carried out, but then got back to his feet as the play continued.
After the full-time whistle blew, Ronaldo looked furious as he yelled towards the referee, the all-time great was also seen on all fours with his head in his hands.

Ronaldo just couldn’t play for Juventus tonight, it was an unflattering performance from the Turin side and they are lucky to come out of the tie with an away goal to be perfectly honest.
