According to Italian journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Everton is one of the clubs interested in signing Lille right-back Mehmet Zeki Celik during the January transfer window.
Roma have started talks with agents of Mehmet Zeki Celik [Lille] as a right-back, after Bryan Reynolds stalled [Juve and Brugge always interested]. There is no official offer yet. Everton was also in contact with their agents [weeks ago]. 🇹🇷 #Rome #Little @DiMarzio @SkySport

The Toffees were in contact with the Turkey international’s agents weeks ago, and AS Roma has already joined the race.
Everton have started the 2020-21 Premier League campaign on an impressive note, winning nine and drawing two of their first 16 games.
Coach Carlo Ancelotti is looking to guide his team to a top-six finish to play European football next season and is eager to strengthen his team before the second half of the campaign.
Everton is 32 years old
Seamus Coleman and Jonjoe Kenny as his right-back options, but Ancelotti has often used center-back Mason Holgate at the position as an impromptu.
A new right-back appears to be part of the club’s plans this month and Celik will be a good addition to their bottom line.
The 23-year-old has two goals and an assist for Lille this term, and while those numbers aren’t the most impressive, his quality is there for suitors to see.
With top-tier French clubs in financial distress after Mediapro, a television rights holder, withheld two successive payments, Lille could be forced to sell out some of its best players and accept a discounted price for Celik this month. .
It remains to be seen if Everton will make a move for the Turkish full-back in the coming weeks, but they could surely use a new right-back capable of creating scoring chances in the final third, and it will be interesting to see who they will go for.
