The England international has fallen out of favor with Spurs head coach José Mourinho as he has only started one Premier League match so far this season and came off the bench three times.
He has made just six appearances in all other competitions and is in danger of missing coach Gareth Southgate’s England squad for this summer’s European Championships if his luck does not change in the second half of the season.
Alli’s chances of forcing his way back to the Spurs starting lineup are slim, which is why the 24-year-old wants to leave this month.
Paris Saint-Germain have returned for their signing after missing out in the summer, with their new coach Mauricio Pochettino watching a meeting.
The talks have not reached an advanced stage, as Tottenham president Daniel Levy is unwilling to let the midfield go., but an agreement could be reached in the final days of the winter transfer window if the club expresses its willingness to listen to the offers.
While the Spurs star undoubtedly loves the club, he cannot afford to remain a fringe player with his international career on the line.
A switch to PSG could help him get back to his best and regain his confidence, and it will be interesting to see if the French giants will continue to push forward.
A loan would be suitable for all three parties involved, and talks can continue into the summer if Pochettino remains willing to retain him.
