The days of Rooney scoring spectacular goals for Manchester United might not end forever.
Wayne Rooney’s record of 253 goals with the Old Trafford team remains unmatched, but his son Kai could soon be on the hunt for that benchmark.
The 11-year-old, the eldest son of the former England captain, signed for United on Thursday, his father revealed on Instagram.
The acting Derby County boss uploaded a photo of Kai signing papers at United alongside a Rooney number 10 jersey.
“Proud day,” Wayne wrote. Kai signs for @manchesterunited. Keep up the hard work son. “
Rooney made his famous Everton debut at just 16 years old, meaning Kai could soon be on the big stage if he can match his father’s meteoric trajectory.
