Real Madrid youngster Takefusa Kubo is looking to interrupt his assignment with Villarreal and join another club, Yellow Submarine coach Unai Emery has confirmed.
Kubo has started just two LaLiga games with Villarreal since joining a one-season contract from Madrid in August and was not part of the squad for Saturday’s 2-1 win over Levante.
Getafe president Ángel Torres revealed his team’s interest in the Japanese international this week and reports from Spain suggest that the Madrid-based club is close to reaching a deal.
Speaking after his team’s victory against Levante, which took Villarreal to fourth place, Emery admitted that the winger is likely to go ahead.
“I asked Kubo if he wanted to stay or go [Villarreal] and he told me he’s looking for a way out, “he said at his post-match press conference.

“Take’s behavior is good, he has helped us and he must continue to grow as a player.
“However, he told me that he wants to go to find more minutes elsewhere and that is why he was not on the day today.”
Kubo was signed by Madrid from FC Tokyo in 2019 and was on loan to Real Mallorca last season, where he enjoyed more success than his current spell with Villarreal.
He scored four and assisted four more in 35 appearances, but failed to save Mallorca from relegation in his first season back to the top flight.
The 19-year-old has been used a total of 19 times by Villarreal this season, 13 of those LaLiga appearances.
However, Kubo hasn’t been able to score on his eight shots, five of which came on goal, and he has yet to help a teammate or play a successful cross since open play.
