Real Madrid is open to selling Martin Odegaard to help fund big money transfers in the summer transfer window, according to Don balon.
Odegaard enjoyed a successful loan spell at Real Sociedad last season, but returning to Real Madrid to work with Zinedine Zidane, it was clear in the first half of the season that he wasn’t going to have enough playing time.
As a result, he signed on loan from Arsenal in the January transfer window, where he has already established himself as a major player, starting against Manchester City at the weekend.
However, does Arsenal have the financial power to sign Odegaard permanently? Perhaps not, with Don Balon informing that Real Madrid wants € 70M in exchange for the young Norwegian.
The idea is, according to Don Balon, to cash in on Odegaard to raise cash for Real Madrid to spend in the summer, when serious rebuilding work will be needed.
Odegaard could go on to become one of the best in his position on the planet, but considering that his development has been a roller coaster ride to date, if Real Madrid can raise € 70 million for him, one thinks they would be satisfied.
