According to David Ornstein from Athletics, Real Madrid have reached an agreement with AS Monaco on the proposed transfer of Aurelien Tchouameni. The total package will be worth more than € 100 million. The Ligue 1 side and the 14-time European champions are currently working to complete the paperwork and complete the regulatory processes to be followed. When they are done with that, the 22-year-old midfielder will sign his contract as a new Real Madrid player and the deal will be officially announced.

Tchouameni’s fine performances in the 2021/22 season attracted the attention of a number of clubs. It was always likely that it fell on what the player himself wants, and although at first there were rumors that he was keen to play in the Premier League, Real went in decisively and he chose Madrid as his destination.

When his intention to join Real became known, Real reportedly tried to negotiate a lower price, but Monaco stood firm. Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain reportedly had to wait for the Champions League winners to show signs of hesitation in strengthening their own interests, but Real obviously chose to end the deal quickly instead.
