Manchester United have new faith in a big signing in the middle of Ralf Rangnick’s arrival, while Aston Villa are giving a transfer tip – both in the latest Paper Talk.
RANGNICK INSPIRES UTD, HAALAND BELIEF
Manchester United have renewed confidence that they can win the transfer race for Erling Haaland following the agreement to bring Ralf Rangnick to the club, according to a report.
Rangnick is set to take charge of his first match as United coach on Thursday when they face Arsenal in the Premier League. The German has agreed an imminent switch to Old Trafford as temporary boss until the end of the season.
However, as part of the move, the 63-year-old will remain in the club in a consulting role for two years. United vice-president Ed Woodward reportedly pushed for such a scheme.
Previous reports have revealed how Rangnick sees it player goes out as his priority in January at Old Trafford.
According to Sunday MirrorBut United feel confident of getting a big signing in Haaland next summer with Rangnick’s help.
When he moves into his consulting role, he will work with United on transfers. And Dortmund striker Haaland is one of their biggest goals.
United plan to use Rangnick’s relationship with the Norwegian to bring him to Old Trafford.
The German – who previously oversaw the operations of RB Leipzig and RB Salzburg – actually helped bring Haaland to Salzburg from Molde. Rangnick is therefore also good with Haaland’s father, Alf-Inge.
The sun on Sunday has a similar story. They claim that while the former United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjær – Haaland’s compatriot and former coach in Molde – had inspired the hope of his signing while he was in charge.
Rangnick’s arrival, however, drives a whole new level of faith. Should United sign Haaland, they would beat Chelsea and Manchester City to his signature.
