Rangers coach Steven Gerrard revealed today that he was disappointed by five club players who violated Coronavirus regulations.
Gerrard named the five players responsible and confirmed Sky sports that all are now self-isolated and will be fined in accordance with the club’s disciplinary code.
Bongani Zungu, Nathan Patterson Calvin Bassey, Dapo Medube and Brian Kinnear are the five players who found themselves breaking COVID-19 regulations.
Players’ actions will certainly rule them out of the club’s midweek game. Zungu, Patterson and Bassey could have played a role in Thursday’s Europa League clash against Royal Antwerp.
It will be interesting to see how his actions affect his long-term future at the club.
The Rangers coach added that the COVID-19 gap is not ideal, but it will not affect his team’s preparations for a crucial game in Europe and the rest of the players have the attitude and the application to face it.
Some of the Rangers fans believe they have seen the last of Zungu in the Rangers and he is likely to return to his parent club soon.
The 28-year-old midfielder has been rather mediocre since moving on loan to the club and his total disregard for regulations has not gone well with the fans either.
