According to a recent AS report, Sergio Ramos’ reluctance to sign a new contract with Real Madrid was due to the money involved.
This is because the veteran did not want to have to accept a 10% pay cut that was asked of him, despite the fact that he probably made enough cash for ten lives over the course of his illustrious career.
Real Madrid have made it clear that they would rather Ramos stay at the Bernabéu, but if that doesn’t materialize, chances are high that he will be entertained elsewhere. He’s still in a strong position when it comes to his form on the field, he’s obviously interested in testing the waters in a different league, and there would be no shortage of teams that would like to use his leadership skills.
It all comes down to a compromise, and that could lead to a stalemate.
