Police would like to interview Dallas Cowboys player Kelvin Joseph in connection with a murder that took place in mid-March.
Joseph is not a suspect or person of interest at this time.
However, police would like to talk to Joseph about the murder of 20-year-old Cameron Ray, which took place on March 18. Joseph was another round of the Cowboys last season.
Ray was fatally shot in a confrontation with a group of people who were caught on camera. One of those in the confrontation is believed to be Joseph, based on his YKDV necklace. According to ESPN, Joseph’s rap nickname is “YKDV Bossman Fat.”
Cowboys: Police want to talk to Kelvin Joseph
So far, the Cowboys and Joseph have not yet released a statement, though they have reportedly privately encouraged him to speak to police, especially since he is not a main suspect, but merely a person at the scene.
The following, according to ESPN, sheds a little more light on the current case:
“Detective Tonya McDaniel told KDFW that Ray and three friends were in Dallas for a weekend and that they were not responsible for the incident that preceded the shooting. Police have been working to identify the group seen in the surveillance video, including the man. wearing the YKDV necklace. “
While the Cowboys would certainly prefer that this distraction not take place for a player they have invested in according to the NFL Draft as Joseph, as long as he adheres, the organization will remain patient through the legal process.
We will have more details once they are made available.
