Andrea Pirlo promised Juventus “will fight to the end” to retain their Serie A title after Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice in a 3-0 win over Crotone.
Ronaldo had gone three games without scoring, but headed in with a double in the first half and Juve had a first win in four games.
Weston McKennie was also right when the champions overpowered the woeful bottom crotone, recording 27 shots in a one-sided encounter at Allianz Stadium on Monday.
Juve’s victory brought them to third place, eight points behind leaders Inter with one game less.
Head coach Pirlo was pleased with the way the Bianconeri got back on track and says they are ready to roll up their sleeves and fight in the title race.
He told Sky Sport Italia: “The last two games had left us with some nerves, then fortunately we managed to straighten the situation and handled the game well.”
Pirlo added: “All the teams pursue [Inter] we are real rivals, we will try to fight to the end ”.

Ronaldo was one of the Juve players guilty of wasting glorious opportunities, the Portugal captain only hit the target with four of his 11 shots, and Pirlo hopes the Turin giants will be more clinical in their quest for more trophies.
The former Italian playmaker said: “We have created a lot, it is a shame that we have not had so many opportunities. The important thing is to create, the goals will come ”.
Pirlo chose Rodrigo Bentancur to praise him after he gifted Porto an early goal in Juve’s 2-1 loss in the Champions League last week.
“The midfield did well. Bentancur played without training, ”said the Juve coach. “Those who played tonight did well with a positive and proactive attitude.
“Bentancur was good and deserves applause because it was not easy to return to the field after the mistake against Porto.”
