Pele has been discharged from the hospital following a urinary tract infection.

The Brazilian legend was admitted to Albert Einstein’s hospital in Sao Paulo on February 13 for treatment of a colon tumor.

Doctors discovered a UTI eight days after he was admitted, but said Monday that the problem has been resolved.

A statement from the hospital read: “The patient’s clinical condition is stable and he is cured of his infection.

“He will continue his treatment for the colon tumor identified in September 2021.”

The 81-year-old was previously re-admitted to hospital for treatment of his tumor on December 8, before being discharged on December 23.

Pele is a triple world championship winner and is one of only four players to have scored in four different world championships.

He remains Brazil’s leading goal scorer ever with 77 goals in 92 games, seven goals ahead of Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar (70).
