In an exclusive interview for Football FanCast, former footballer and current pundit Carlton Palmer has been arguing about Tottenham Hotspur’s transfer target, Marcel Sabitzer.
The RB Leipzig midfielder has apparently Been on Jose Mourinho’s radar for some time, though it remains to be seen whether a January deal for the Austrian midfielder can materialize, or whether a summer play is more likely.
Do you think Sabitzer will join the Spurs?
Sabitzer recently turned down a new contract with the Bundesliga team and given that his contract will expire at the end of next season, it appears that Spurs could seal a cut-price transfer raid for the Leipzig captain, if they are itching to do so. Avoid losing it in a free transfer.
It’s no wonder Spurs are interested in the 26-year-old, considering he managed nine goals and seven assists in 32 Bundesliga appearances, which saw him handle an excellent 7.24 rating.
Here’s what Palmer had to say about Sabitzer when speaking exclusively to FFC:
“It is not about whether you update [Moussa] Sissoko, you are always looking to bring in quality players. He’s a quality player so I think they will definitely be on the hunt if the price is right. The objective is, with José, make no mistake, the objective is to win trophies and win the Premier League ”.
Palmer therefore clearly feels that Sabitzer is a player Mourinho would love to bring to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as he seeks to clinch a Premier League title with the north London club.
Although Tanguy Ndombele is starting to bring in more, goals and assists from midfield have been difficult for Spurs to come by so far this season, so adding someone like Sabitzer could make a real difference on the side. de Mourinho, and maybe ease some of the burden. by Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son.
It looks like the Austrian could be on the move before this month’s deadline or in the summer, so it will be interesting to see if he joins Tottenham Hotspur before the 2021/22 campaign.
And, in other news … The Spurs gave the ideal opportunity to eliminate the £ 42 million flop which is “a mistake that is waiting to happen”
