Barcelona confirmed that French forward Ousmane Dembélé will miss Tuesday’s meeting with Juventus after sustaining a hamstring injury in Saturday’s humiliating 2-1 loss to Cádiz.

Dembélé came off the bench at half-time and managed to finish the game, but was seen holding his hamstring and Barcelona fans immediately feared the worst, as the 23-year-old has a lousy record when it comes to muscle injuries.

Fortunately, Barcelona brought their own official Web site to confirm that this latest problem is nothing too serious, but it will force Dembélé to miss Tuesday’s decisive match with Juventus at least.

There is no mention of how long Dembélé will be out, and Barcelona suggested that his progress will dictate his return date.

Brand We anticipate that Dembélé will be missing between one and two weeks, so it is highly likely that he will not be available for Levante’s visit on Sunday, while his involvement in subsequent meetings with Real Sociedad and Valencia also seems to be in doubt.

Given Dembélé’s miserable history with hamstring problems, Barcelona will likely avoid taking risks with the Frenchman. AS They are confident that he will stay on the sidelines for the next two weeks, and may even stay on the treatment table a little longer until the club’s doctors are 100% satisfied that Dembélé will not suffer a relapse of the problem.

Ronald Koeman already has a lot of injury problems to deal with. Ansu Fati, Sergi Roberto and Gerard Piqué are expected to miss the next few months, while many of their players have needed to rest in recent weeks.

Fortunately, even without Dembele and Fati, Koeman still has many options in attack. Lionel Messi, Antoine Griezmann, Philippe Coutinho and Martin Braithwaite started against Cádiz, with Pedri and Francisco Trincao alongside Dembélé on the bench.

It remains to be seen which lineup Koeman will go with against Juventus, but with the top spot in the group at stake, the boss will no doubt be eager to present his best possible team.

Barcelona are three points ahead of Juventus in Group G and will finish at the top of the table as long as they do not lose by three goals.
