Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has provided a positive update on the injury ahead of the Premier League clash against West Bromwich Albion on Sunday.
The Red Devils have been inconsistent with their performances over the past few weeks, winning only two of the previous five games in all competitions.
Prior to the Baggies crash, Solskjaer provided positive injury news by confirming that Eric Bailly has returned to training after a shin problem.
However, the Norwegian added that neither Paul Pogba (thigh) nor Phil Jones (rehab after knee surgery) will be available to face Sam Allardyce’s side on the road.
“We have had a unique opportunity to train a little and recover – Paul [Pogba] he’s out, but Eric has been training, which is a boost for us, ”he said at the pre-match press conference.
“Eric is available. He has trained for a couple of days, so he will be available for selection. So that’s positive. Other than that, no one else has been back.”
The central defensive pair of Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire battled Everton, where they conceded three goals from the same number of shots on goal.
Bailly was a regular alongside Maguire, starting five of the club’s six league games before suffering a premature injury.
The Ivorian has been more confident than Lindelof with his positioning and could replace the Swede on Sunday, suppose he is deemed fit to play the 90 minutes.
The Red Devils are already five points behind Manchester City for the top position and have played one more game than their city rivals.
There is no room for more mistakes if they want to keep the pressure on the Cityzens, who recently broke another record in English football.
Pep Guardiola’s team became the first English team to win 15 consecutive matches in all competitions, surpassing the previous feat jointly carried out by Arsenal and Preston North End.
