Wide receiver Julio Jones is still a free agent, but the odds are in the Green Bay Packers’ favor of buying him.

NFL training camp begins at the end of this month, and there are still plenty of players who are still free agents. There’s a big name that goes unsigned, and that’s former Atlanta Falcons and Tennessee Titans wide receiver Julio Jones. With the regular season fast approaching, it may be a matter of time before he signs on a team.

When it comes to favorites, consensus odds say the Green Bay Packers are the favorites at +325. But there is a team that is not too far behind them and they are the Indianapolis Colts at +350.

The Packers are the favorites to pick Julio Jones in 2022

Packer’s wide receiver space is going to look very different when you enter the 2022 season. Star Davante Adams was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders, with whom he signed a five-year, $ 140 million contract extension. Green Bay also lost Marquez Valdes-Scantling to the Kansas City Chiefs and Equanimeous St. Brown to the Chicago Bears out of season.

That does not mean that the Packers did not make additions. They used their second-round pick on North Dakota State wide receiver Christian Watson and signed veteran Sammy Watkins to a one-year deal.

Bringing Jones in would bring some star power that is lacking in Green Bay’s offensive. However, he comes after an injury-plagued 2021 campaign with the Titans, where he caught 31 passes on 434 yards and a touchdown in 10 games. That was what led to his release from the Titans a year after the team bought him into a trade with the Falcons.

Will the Packers sign Jones? Or will another team that needs a wide receiver sign him a contract?
