After securing a win against Blackburn Rovers in the middle of the table at the weekend, Nottingham Forest turned its attention to relegation fighters Rotherham on Tuesday night.
Chris Hughton’s team has improved in recent weeks in terms of its form, with the loss to Swansea last Wednesday its only loss in the last six games of the championship.
Things are looking a lot brighter for Forest, and while Hughton is unlikely to make any massive changes for tonight’s game, he may be looking to freshen things up a bit given the rapid change in games.
Should Hughton rest the players tonight before the Derby?
And with that in mind, below is how Forest could line up.
In goal, Bryce Samba should hold his place, with all four defenders ahead of him unchanged, with Forest’s defense improving significantly in recent weeks. kept four clean sheets in his last six games.
Midfield could see a key change, with Hughton undoubtedly looking out for the East Midlands derby on Friday against Derby County, and that could give Manchester United loan James Garner a break.
If Hughton makes that bold decision, then 6-foot-3 Ryan Yates could be in contention for a call-up to the starting lineup alongside Cafu.
Later on, Joe Lolley will also hope to be the beneficiary of Hughton wanting to keep the players as fresh as possible, with another young talent in Alex Mighton in his place.
Planned XI: Samba; Christie, Figueiredo, Worrall, Ribeiro; Yates, Cafu; Knockaert, Krovinovic, Lolley; Murray.
