With a free NFL agency on the way soon, here’s a look at some quality running backs who should have plenty of attention.
While many of you out there may be focused on the 2022 NFL Draft, there will be plenty of free agency intrigue when things open up on March 16th. Back there are more guys who will be looking for new homes.
The same players will definitely attract lots of attention, with the list of top goals including Leonard Fournette, James Conner and others. So which running backs will be primetime goals in about a month?
5. Melvin Gordon
A two-time Pro Bowler, running back Melvin Gordon is out of contract with the Denver Broncos and the expectation is that there will be no reunion between the two sides. This is great news for other teams out there.
Gordon may not be the same kind of back that he was back with the Chargers, but he still has game-changing abilities. The last two years with the Broncos, he rushed in at 986 yards and 918 yards, respectively. He also made 17 touchdowns.
Gordon has also been pretty durable the past two seasons and has played in 31 games. Gordon is also still only 28 years old. His best football may be behind him, but again, he’s been a reliable backslider the last two years with Denver and he can definitely make a difference for a foul.
