With its “Teaser Edition”, Puma Football had made our mouths water, here is now the Future Z officially unveiled and which will find itself not only at the feet of Neymar but also of a slew of players.
There is almost a month to the day, Puma Football presented to the World the new model worn by its new major ambassador, Neymar Jr. Called Future Z, this model was distinguished by a modern shape and innovative technologies that broke the codes established with the Future range launched in 2017. While the Brazilian of the PSG was the only player to wear this pair in its Teaser Edition colorway, Puma Football today presents a new color that will be present this time on the feet of many footballers. The Future Z is now official and therefore replaces the Future silo.
Puma Future Z: for dynamic and creative players
Since its release in 2017, the Future silo is designed for agile gamers. If the Ultra meets the needs of players whose speed is the key word, the Future has clearly been imagined for playmakers, players who are the creators of their team, non-conformists. Built with the desire to keep this very special DNA, the Future Z will be worn by Neymar of course but also by James Maddison, Eugénie Le Sommer, Marco Reus, Dzsenifer Marozsán and many others. Much more than a new model, the Future Z is the ultimate evolution of the leaping feline brand’s range.

Puma Future Z: What are the strengths of this new pair?
Even if the pair is officially presented today, the Future Z had already revealed information thanks to the “Teaser Edition” model worn by the PSG player since mid-December. This wide band visible in the heart of the pair, this new silhouette, this widely modified collar, we already know them. But what are these new technological developments really? And above all, what are the contributions of these innovations?
Puma Future Z « Game.On »
The most important and innovative technology of the Future Z is the adaptable compression band FuzionFit +. Developed from a unique combination of polyester yarns, spandex and special technical yarns, this technology has been implemented to provide a blend of compression, comfort and durability and in order to offer a second skin effect to players. ” We started with a strong compression in the mid-foot, but… we quickly realized that it was too tight. After a series of prototypes and fit tests, we finally developed the right pattern, the right knit composition and the right texture, to create the ultimate silhouette shape. »Explains Lilly Cocks, Developer Teamsport Footwear. Due to its design and central placement on the pair, this band FuzionFit + is the real asset of this new model, a bit like what the Netfit was for the older generation of Future.
“Agility tests carried out over 20 meters showed that the FUTURE Z allowed to obtain on average 3% of speed gain compared to the previous model. “
Florian Nemetz, Senior PLM Manager Team Sport Footwear
The other major innovation of the Future Z is the outsole called Dynamic Motion System. Besides its Z shape, the sole stands out above all for the people behind its design. Indeed, it is by relying on the medical teams of its clubs under contract that the Puma Football teams have created this new generation of outsole. Apart from the fact that its weight has been reduced thanks to the use of super-light PEBA material, it is indeed the length, the shape, the perfect positioning of the crampons and in particular the placement of the central crampon at the pivot point of the shoe that were decided in collaboration with the specialists of each club.
An unprecedented solicitation, to say the least, but above all testifying to the importance that clubs now occupy in brand strategies. It is also not insignificant that prototypes are very often validated by players from clubs under contract with equipment manufacturers, as Florian Nemetz explained to us in an interview about the launch of the Future Z ” We work closely with universities, innovation teams, but also with our licensed clubs (AC Milan, Man City, Newcastle) to make sure that we can validate the designs, to test a new sole, a new upper. , and that’s what ultimately makes the process of creating a shoe take almost two years. »
Puma Future Z “Game.On”. : A fluorescent launch color!
After communicating for nearly a month on the “Teaser Edition” colorway, it’s the Game.On colorway. which becomes the first official version of this pair which is the continuity of the existing Future silo. Despite everything, it is in the continuity of the first version that this new color combination comes to life. The neon yellow that was on the tape FuzionFit + now appears on the upper and it is an adaptable black compression band that stands out. The various logos are also adorned in black while the FUTURE marking on the inside of the foot is white.
Officially unveiled this Monday, January 11, the pair is already available for sale on the puma.com website and at some retailers. On the other hand, it will be necessary to wait until January 21 to find it available everywhere. Like the Teaser Edition colorway, the Future Z 1.1 which is the top-of-the-range model of the silo will be available for sale at € 200.
