Newcastle United is interested in signing Phil Jones from Manchester United in the January transfer window, according to Eurosport. West Ham United and Leicester City are also interested in securing the services of England’s international central defender when the transfer window opens next month.
Jones has been on United’s books since 2011 when he joined from Blackburn Rovers. The 28-year-old center-back has fallen into the hierarchy of the Red Devils, who are willing to move on and ready to hear offers.
Newcastle is considering a move for Jones, but his £ 80,000 a week paycheck could prove a problem. According to Who scored, the 28-year-old has made two Premier League appearances and has made two appearances as a starter and a substitute in the Europa League for United so far this season.
