Manchester United defender Brandon Williams has recently been linked to a loan out of the club.
According to Manchester evening news, the 20-year-old defender has been linked to Newcastle United and Southampton are believed to have been interested in signing the player at the start of the season.
The youngster has yet to start a Premier League match with Manchester United this season and a loan could be ideal for his development right now.
He’s unlikely to start ahead of Aaron Wan-Bissaka this season and the youngster needs to come out on loan and play first-team football regularly at another club.
According to the report, Manchester United will wait until January to decide the defender’s future and it will be interesting to see how the situation develops in the coming weeks.
“Brandon has done very well since he joined the team,” Solskjaer said. said. “He had a slow start to the season for different reasons. I think now he’s coming back to himself. I can see more of Brandon being Brandon again.
“I enjoyed watching him, I enjoyed him more in training, he’s played a couple of 23 games and he’s been more involved.
“That is something we will see in January, but we rate Brandon very well, so whoever is interested will not be wrong.”
Brandon Williams is very talented and cannot afford to sit on the bench every week at this stage in his career. Regular football could be crucial to their development and Manchester United must find a solution that benefits the player in the long run.
Newcastle United could use some defensive depth on their side and it will be interesting to see if the Magpies decide to make a move for Williams when the transfer window reopens next month.
Signing a talented young defender like Williams on a loan deal would be a smart move from Steve Bruce and the youngster is likely to get more playing time at Newcastle and therefore would be a good fit for him too.
