Newcastle United is believed to be interested in signing Monaco defender Djibril Sidibe.
The 28-year-old joined Everton on loan in 2019 and managed to impress with the Toffees.
According to FootmercatoEverton also tried to sign the defender for this season, but Monaco were not interested in another loan deal.
The French team value the player between 5 and 7 million euros and it will be interesting to see if Newcastle United are willing to pay the sale price.
The defender has a contract with the French club until the summer of 2022 and Monaco will be interested in selling him as soon as possible. Its value will continue to plummet over time and the French company needs to find a buyer soon.
Sidibe could prove to be a quality addition to Newcastle United’s defense and could be an improvement over DeAndre Yedlin. The Newcastle United defender is impressive up front but is suspected on defense.
Judging from Sideibe’s performances with Everton in the past, it would be fair to assume that he is likely to adapt quickly and have an immediate impact on Newcastle United if he joins the Magpies.
According to the report, Newcastle have done an investigation by the defender and it remains to be seen if the two clubs can agree on a fee in the coming days.
A return to the Premier League will likely be tempting for Djibril Sidibe and he is unlikely to turn down a Newcastle United signing if there is a concrete offer on the table. The player is believed to be a target for Marseille as well.
