Nashville, two teams leading the Final Series chase, will welcome New York City to Nissan Stadium in the early hours of Saturday.

Starting with the hosts, putting on another eye-catching display against former MLS champions Atlanta last weekend, Nashville has continued to impress many across the United States this season. Sitting on pole position to clinch another Final Series spot in the Eastern Conference, head coach Gary Smith was quick to praise his team’s recent displays. Rebounding from that shocking 2-1 loss at Inter Miami last month, the Yellows have lost just one of their last 13 straight meetings, a streak dating back to mid-June. Looking to set another score this weekend, the former Stevenage boss has seen his team gain a reputation for their home performances. Including an action-packed 5-2 win against DC United at Nissan Stadium last month, Nashville has yet to relish defeat in front of its own fans so far this season.

As for the visitors, while New York may have built a reputation for inconsistencies over the past month, the Blues should be boosted by an impressive display this past weekend. Managing to surprise many when they posted a 2-0 home win against New England, that was just the second victory Ronny Deila’s team had earned in their previous six outings. Knowing they could face a tough trip to Nissan Stadium on Saturday, the former Celtic boss has seen his team show a number of problems on the road. Last seen outside of Yankee Stadium taking a hit with a 1-0 loss to the Philadelphia Union, NYCFC has failed to win any of its last five MLS away games in the turn, a streak dating back to late of May. Given Nashville’s unbridled form at home, we’re backing a home win here.
